Unwilling to decide; I'd rather hatred bear Than love with others share."
There are many memorable records of the bravery and gallantry of troubadours and min-strels, especially the English and French, to be found in our histories. The story of " Richard Cceur de Lion" has been dramatized as a romance, with ballads and songs. The original was by M. Sedaine, and produced in operatic form at the Comedie Italienne in 1786. It was adapted to the English stage first by Leonard McNally (Covent Garden, October 16th, 1786), the second by General Burgoyne (Drury Lane, October 24th, 1786).
